Oakland has been an increasingly important housing and office center in the Bay Area. To that end, Reuben, Junius & Rose, LLP has been involved in a variety of larger and challenging projects, including the MacArthur BART Transit Village – Parcel B (400 units, 260 feet in height, resulting from a 90 foot increase, 500 Kirkham Street @ West Oakland BART (1,000 units, 3 buildings including a 340 foot tall high rise), 1396 5th Street @ West Oakland BART (222 units, surviving a CEQA appeal), 2201 Valley Street in Uptown (900k office building, 420 feet tall), and 1431 Franklin Street (with two building options, a 411 feet tall, 419K office building or 381 units in a 413 foot tall tower). We continue to track the new planning areas and efforts in Oakland to ensure our clients are in the know.
Berkeley, likewise, has seen a significant increase in housing project approvals. The firm has obtained approvals for many and is currently involved in a variety of housing projects ranging from mid-sized to large-scale, including 2050 Kala Bagai (formerly Shattuck Avenue E.)
